Today in 1876, the young Alexander Graham bell receives a patent for his new invention of the telephone. Born in Scotland, Bell worked in London with his father who was a inventor himself. In the 1870s Bell and his father moved to Boston where they would continue their work. Bell had become fascinated with new invention of the telegraph, the mahine made communication almost instant but still had to send messages by hand. bell wanted to improve upon the telegraph and make his own version that allowed to people to talk to each other. With the help of a Boston worker Thomas Watson, the two put out a prototype. The creation was a success and a few days after filing for patent the telephone made its first call where Bell stated, “Mr. Watson, come here, I need you”.
